	Because of these facts, a rational approach to AIDS treatment is necessary. The philosophy of this approach is as follows: Minimize antiviral therapy. Treat infections early and aggressively. Avoid prolonged drug treatment. Avoid immunosuppressive therapies, such as herbs, antioxidants, hormones. Look for treatments that boost cell-mediated immunity.
